Hey everyone, I am uh I am officially back. I was supposed to be back sooner, but uh that episode had audio problems, so I am back here. And uh yeah, in case you guys forgot, I'm Chris. I'm playing to sweetie, and uh yeah, I'll let everyone else introduce themselves.
SPEAKER_07Holy we're back, back to three players.

SPEAKER_00Yeah, man, I've ready to get crit and killed again. Maybe a while this time.
SPEAKER_03Ah my wonderful tank.
SPEAKER_07That was like a good uh it's a good two months for us, but for the listeners, you guys probably won't know this at all. So it'll probably be like a week for you guys. Wow, yeah, but anyways, uh I am Jackie, your DM. I've been super busy, but I'm glad that we're back to our our original players and we can get the story moving.
SPEAKER_03Ah, and I'm your favorite menace, Black Sky.
SPEAKER_02Of course, you're Elf Bard, Wagnew, I'm here. I'm excited to get back to it, and definitely excited to have our tank back.
SPEAKER_07Uh let's see if he remembers how to tink. Well, without further ado, let's get wandering. Wagnu and Black Sky stood before the council of Caesar, accused of slowing chaos after the mishap of the cursed dagger. Elders, Silverfist, ever watchful, cut down Yur's word at every turn. But when you spoke your truth, your conviction gave Yur the strength she needed. She rose in defiance, claiming her rightful place as the leader of Kayash. Then the impossible happened. The spirit tree within the wagnew, long dormant, burst into golden light. The chamber was bathed in radiance, and for a moment, even the skeptical council could not deny what stood before them. That you were chosen for something greater. Reluctantly, they gave way. You were free. Yur brought you to rest in a small house within the fortress walls. But curiosity is a dangerous thing. Beneath the floorboards, you incurred a hidden binding, etched with the mark of the black dawn coat. The discovery set off an alarm, and though you escaped unscathed, the revelation lingered in your mind. Come morning, you learned the truth. The home and its secrets belong to none other than Elder Silver Fist. Shaking the ones from your shoulders, you wandered the streets of Kaish. In its heart, you found Mamu, the blacksmith. Black sky, you entrusted her with a bold commission to reforge the powers of your wind artifact into a dagger. You even won her favor, leaving with a pair of Dwarven blades. Wagnu, you walked away with a fine dwarven sword, dazzling and true. But as you stepped outside, your eyes fell on the sign above the door. Silver fist armory. The name burned into your mind. The council of doubt. The binding beneath the floor. The tremors shaking the fortress walls. The revelation of realizing that Mammu is the daughter of Sorfist. You look at her and she looks at you confusingly. Kind of like wondering if something happened.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, everything's great. Um Silverfist. Um what did you s who who'd you say Silverfist was again?
SPEAKER_05That's my dad.
SPEAKER_03Oh, that's your dad. Uh Wagno, did you hear that? That's uh Silverfist is uh Mammu's dad.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. That's great news. We we happen to uh be great friends of his.
SPEAKER_03Ah, that's that's uh great news.
SPEAKER_06Really? Friends?
SPEAKER_03Huh. That's weird. I mean, yeah, we just met your dad, but you know, we're uh we're all we're off to a great start. A really great start.
SPEAKER_07So I'm guessing you two are the ones that are staying at at his uh his other house. Oh told me about it yesterday.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, that's uh your dad, that's very gracious of your dad. He's a uh very kind and helpful man.
SPEAKER_02That's right. Yes.
SPEAKER_03He really is. Uh yeah, um, you know, I and we didn't mean to pry, but um we kind of fell down the stairs to the basement yesterday, and uh there's this um sort of purple fluid. Would that be like his medicine by any chance? I mean, I we didn't touch it, of course, but wait.
SPEAKER_07As you say that you the two queu fell down the basement, uh, she starts to give you like a kind of like a wordy look. What did you say? What did you say?
SPEAKER_03Oh!
SPEAKER_05You filled down the basement, you said?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, we were um we were trying to look for the bathroom. And as soon as I opened the door, I tripped down the stairs, and Wagnew was behind me, so he tripped along with me.
SPEAKER_07I I I mean, I've actually never been there. Not down there anyway. Uh my dad would never let me go down there.
SPEAKER_03Oh. Okay. Uh I'm let's just keep this between us then, Mammu.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we won't tell him if you don't tell him because um it was a pretty old house and the stairs broke up. That's why we fell so hard, and that's why we also like uh tumbled and we knocked down a few things on our way down. So that's what happens if you ever hear from him.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and of course, like you said, your dad knows we were sleeping there, so um, yeah, just uh just a little funny incident.
SPEAKER_07She looks at you confused. And you said that you saw a pot with some purple what was it? Like goo water? What is it?
SPEAKER_03Uh I you know, I uh we wouldn't know. We didn't touch it. I don't we didn't touch anything right at all, right, Wagnu? We just walked right back up, close the door, and yeah, minded our own business.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's right. We just we were just wondering if it rang a bell or if you remembered anything like that, or your your father talking about anything like that.
SPEAKER_07Give me a deception check. Um, back sky.
SPEAKER_03Ah, yes, this is where I thrive, baby.
SPEAKER_01Let's go.
SPEAKER_03Let's go. I've been doing it all day. I can do it again. 16.
SPEAKER_07She does her face, has like a face of like, um, like would you oh like oh no, what did you guys do? Why would you guys go down there? Like, even I have even I've never been down there. And then she kind of looks at black sky and you see her her cheek starts to flush. Um she turns away quick and she's like, Well, whatever you do, just look, just don't mention it to him. Uh I won't say anything. You guys are new here. I'm I'm not gonna I'm not gonna cause any trouble. And I don't want you to cause any trouble, so just for now on just stay away from it. Don't go down there anymore.
SPEAKER_03I appreciate that, dear. And I wink at her.
SPEAKER_02Loud and clear.
SPEAKER_07Okay, so anyways, uh I'll start working on this right away, and she takes her artifact. Like I said, I I would try to get it to you as fast as I can, but of course, if I don't rush this, it'll be better.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, of course, Mamu, and uh just yeah, it's um that's a sacred peace of mind, so just hold on dear to it and don't if you can't, please don't let anyone know about it.
SPEAKER_05Hmm. Okay.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, of course. It's of course, of course. It's commissioned. I gotcha. And she starts to walk back behind her table.
SPEAKER_03Alright, well, walk new. Um anything else before we head up?
SPEAKER_02No, it sounds like she's gonna be busy for a while.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Let's get going.
SPEAKER_07Where are the two of you uh wanting to head to now? Or what are you looking for? Day's still pretty early, so I would like to.
SPEAKER_02I would like to go back to where the cages were just to check on that um the monkey. The monkey that was in the cage. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's still there.
SPEAKER_07Okay, yeah. Uh so like I said last time, it is uh pretty far. You can walk there. If you got you guys wanna just go straight there right away, you you can just uh say you go there, but it'll take you a while.
SPEAKER_02Oh shoot, okay.
SPEAKER_07So time will like time will pass.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_07This is a big this is a very big city.
SPEAKER_02Are you cool? Are you okay with that?

SPEAKER_02Okay, well, I did want to look for that monkey. I wanted to find the staff for it, because I talked to it.
SPEAKER_03Oh! The staff? Why don't we ask Mammu before we head out? Wait, wait, you're As a blacksmith, you such an item would catch her eye, no?
SPEAKER_02True. She seems a little more spinning with you. I'll let you I'll let you lead it. Of course.
SPEAKER_07Okay, so um Wagnu, you'll remember that you had showed her the paper or the um the notebook that you have with the like the etchings of the of the staff and stuff, and with the the symbol of the Baghdon. And she didn't seem to understand or know anything about it, aside from saying that that those handwritings look familiar.
SPEAKER_02Okay. She didn't know where it is, huh? I see. Okay.

SPEAKER_07Just a reminder that the green diamond on the right side will let you guys adjust the the ceilings so you can see your your tokens when you guys go up the stairs and stuff.
SPEAKER_01Yep. Oh, okay. Perfect.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Going to the the monkey is back this way. Nice. If anything, I can just probably teleport you guys over there. I'll make it easier, huh?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. Down for that. Down for that. Oh. Oh yeah, I I see it. It's like just right there too.
SPEAKER_07So like I said, it is quite a walk. Walking there would probably take you about like 45 an hour just to walk there. If during this time you wanna, you know, just get a set like a sense of your surrounding or do something within this time while you're walking there, you guys can just let me know in. Or if you guys want to just converse between yourselves.
SPEAKER_02I do wanna like talk to Black Sky, show him what I what I have now. Some of the stuff, the new weapon that I got. I'll show him like the rainbow blade I have. Dude, look at check this out. This is what I got.
SPEAKER_07Holy. Yeah, you flash to black sky, it's a nice dwarven silver blade, and on the handle, it's it has like three different colors of cloth on it. I'll even let you choose what colors you want to be on there, actually. Ooh, that's so there's three.
SPEAKER_02I want to do like um a midnight blue, uh like silvery, kind of white, and then a red.
SPEAKER_07Okay, and you see as you kind of like just swing it around a little bit, you you see like accents of those colors coming from the blade as you swing it around, and the sun catches it.
SPEAKER_02Here, see how it feels in your hand. Now I'll toss it over to Black Sky.
SPEAKER_03I swing it around. Oh my god, Mamu is a genius. This feels amazing.
SPEAKER_02Right? But um, you know, ever since the whole incident with this this place, I've been a little weary about my sword skill, so I just wanted you to have a good feel for it in case I ever needed to trust someone else to swing the blade, if you know what I mean.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, of course. And um speaking of yours, check out the two that I got from Mammu. And I pass over the daggers to Jor, I mean to uh Wagnu.
SPEAKER_07It's as he passes you a dagger, you it's the one that kind of phases in and out. And you see as Black Sky just kind of throws a dagger to you, but before you can hold on to it, it it phases out and it reappears in the hand of Black Sky.
SPEAKER_02Wait. That's sick. Are you doing that on purpose?
SPEAKER_03Uh definitely, definitely not. Um just let me I'll I'll hand it to you. And I walk over and like drop into Wagnu's hand.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and Wagnew's now you're holding it and you can see that it it kind of almost wants to just like almost get like glitching, you know. It's a nice it's a nice uh dark shaded blade. In contrast to the other one that Black Sky has, which is like a um it's a white white dagger with like the head of a tiger on it. Almost the best I can say it, it looks kind of like kind of like the white Power Ranger's his dagger.
SPEAKER_03Cool. Yeah. Uh she said it was like imbued with the power of Pavos. Maybe it's something she sure would know, so I definitely definitely wanted to hold on to this room.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah, you do that. And just wait, so that blade? It can like come back. It's like recursive? Is that what it is? I just wanna confirm. Like, you can make it come back to you?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Dude, that is so sick.
SPEAKER_08Okay.
SPEAKER_02That's amazing. Can't steal it. Okay. I'm done showing each other our swords. Let's go. Let's go talk to your monkey.
SPEAKER_07Okay, let's go. You start making your way to the cages that you were kept in before. Let's kind of shift our our POV to Shusui.
SPEAKER_08Hmm.
SPEAKER_07Shusui, the last thing you remember was like you're falling through water. You remember you being at the water temple, and then you having like a flashback to a moment from your past. After undergoing that and having a chance to kind of reflect on who you are, all you see is darkness. You get a sense of code, a sense of silence, nothing around you, no sound. And then all of a sudden you feel like something wraps around your neck. And when you open your eyes, you see a dark red cloak that had to belong to an uncle. All of a sudden that darkness fades away slowly. As you come to and you're in an unfamiliar place. You're caged in. Everything around you seems to be like rocks. You can feel you can smell the the scent of silver. What do you do?
SPEAKER_00I uh I kinda just grab my head, trying to shrug off the the last remnants of pain that I remember as I clear my head and take a look at my surroundings. Trying to figure out what happened and where I ended up.
SPEAKER_07Okay, give me a perception check or a history check. Depending on how you want to do it.
SPEAKER_00I'll just do perception. Uh uh, mat 20. Finally, please.

SPEAKER_00That's whole obsession, man. Give me flashbacks.
SPEAKER_07Okay, yeah, well, for a nat 20 perception check. You start looking around. It's not a place that you're that you've been to. But seeing like the etchings on the wall and seeing just taking in how everything looks like. The the rocks, the the statues of dwarves, the statues of Goliaths. You've never been here, but you've heard stories from your parents, your family, of an isolated area in Yuping. A city of Goliath's dwarves. Called Kayash. Next to you, you hear the sound of a monkey.
SPEAKER_00I turn and look at the monkey. And I try and figure out why I'm in a cage and why I'm surrounded by other animals in cages.
SPEAKER_07You look at the monkey, and the monkey just seems to be kind of like he looks like he wants to talk to you, but it's just monkey noises, unless you can talk to monkeys. Uh you don't really understand what it's trying to say to you. But as for figuring trying to figure out how you got here, you're not too sure. Last thing you remember was you and the water tempo, and then that memory, and then all of a sudden you're here. And for some reason your uncle's cloak is wrapped around you.
SPEAKER_00Kind of just wiggle something loose and kind of just get out.
SPEAKER_07Are you proficient in like any like lock picking skills at all?
SPEAKER_00Uh I mean I was. So it's still there, but technically no. I mean, I still got sleight of hand, I just don't have the thieves tool anymore.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Well, you still have all of your stuff on you, so you can try to get out however you want.
SPEAKER_00I'll just look for any weaknesses in like the bars if anything's loose. Double check, make sure the door is actually locked, you know. The the basics.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, give me a investigation check.
SPEAKER_00Alright, uh investigation. Where is it? No bonuses. That is a two.
SPEAKER_07Uh yeah, you start you start looking at the door, you start to try to find like weak spots, and you get like a like a thought in your head, like dang, I used to be pretty good at this. I don't know what like you don't know what happened, for some reason you're not good anymore at finding or like trying to open locks. But you do start to hear footsteps coming towards you.
SPEAKER_00I just turn towards the footsteps. Um like maybe if someone shows up I can talk to them trying to figure out what's going on, but but not like I can do anything else in this cage.
SPEAKER_07You look at at the direction of the footsteps and you see the person you know as Black Sky all glammed up, different outfit. And then behind him you see Wagnu just kinda like playing with his new sword.
SPEAKER_00I just stick my hand outside the bar and I go Wagnu? Black Sky? Hey! Over here! Over here.
SPEAKER_03I'm assuming this is like where we're slowly walking up, right? Approaching the side.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you guys are slowly walking up. Okay. And uh truth to me is over here.
SPEAKER_01Do you hear that?
SPEAKER_07Change that Wagnew was locked in before.
SPEAKER_02What I start charging up my firebolt in my hand, in my free hand. Who are you?
SPEAKER_00Really? I don't think it's been that long. You guys don't recognize me? Man.
SPEAKER_03Just start walking closer. Hmm.
SPEAKER_00Also, why are you guys always trying to burn something down? That's your first reaction to someone calling your name. It's a firebolt. Really?
SPEAKER_03It's well. Is that you, Shisui?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I don't really remember what happened after uh after we got separated at the water temple. Uh uh, I kind of just woke up here.
SPEAKER_03Oh god, get a load of this guy. She water temple. Do you wanna tell him Wagnum?
SPEAKER_02I'll tell him. That was ten years ago. You've been gone for ten years.
SPEAKER_00I mean, I wish I was teeth links and uh was it half elves age differently? I don't think so.

SPEAKER_07You start looking around, and Frost was with you too as you guys are shopping. And then um as you two start walking towards this place, this area, back to the cages, um, you notice he's not around you anymore.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's a good question.
SPEAKER_03Frost. Uh, I think he's with uh Zaliff. Who I start we can too walking to him. Uh uh Zaliff. Oh yeah. You met uh we met a friend. Um as he departed from us from the water temple, um this this guy, Zalioff, just uh woke us up by the beach, and next thing you know, we're here.
SPEAKER_00Alright, well, can you guys get me out of this cage? It's kinda weird talking to you guys like this.
SPEAKER_02Right, right. A little fire should do the trick.
SPEAKER_00You set me on a fire, I swear.
SPEAKER_02No, I'm kidding. Um, shoot. How do we how should we get him out of here, Black Sky?
SPEAKER_03Uh yeah, let me um Yeah, don't where's Black Jaw? I mean, I we could just open it, honestly.
SPEAKER_00We could just I mean, maybe we just ask someone why I'm in here.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I yeah, yeah. Give me one second. And I scream at the top of my lungs. Black jaw!
SPEAKER_07Uh you scream super loud and you don't hear black jaw, but you do see this little dwarf coming over to you.
SPEAKER_06I don't know what's going on, man. What's going on here?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so um how how how did this guy end up here?
SPEAKER_07He starts walking towards the cage and he looks at it.
SPEAKER_06Um I don't know, man. What how'd you get in there?
SPEAKER_00I woke up in here.
SPEAKER_06Uh maybe he maybe he belongs in there.
SPEAKER_03Uh no, I I don't think so. I Blackjaw specifically told me that. Um Our friend was welcome to it, but woke up in a jail cell, so.
SPEAKER_06I mean, I don't I I'm I don't have the key. I mean, uh you can open it. Oh I won't say anything. You don't see anything.
SPEAKER_03So so we can just open it? There's just there's no keys, no lock, no nothing.
SPEAKER_06I can just uh fireball or something.
SPEAKER_00Oh god.
SPEAKER_03You heard the man. That's it's your I I guess this is uh your turn to do it, Wagnew. I mean, since he offered first, normally it'd be me, but it well uh before um before we do that, what's your name again? Sorry.

SPEAKER_07Eight, yeah. You charge up your fireboat and you just toss it at the hinges, and you see as it starts to burn. But these are these are some very tough locks. But it does seem to be doing something. It's not quite off yet, but it is this has an effect.
SPEAKER_02Hmm. Alright, I got an idea, Black Sky. I'm just gonna cast another fireball at it soon after. I need your help to strike at those hinges.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, sounds oh, okay.
SPEAKER_02Sounds good. Alright. Keep your head down, shistu shui. And I cast another fireball. Uh I'll cast another fireball at the hinge. Okay. With a nine.
SPEAKER_07Nine just barely misses, and you see as your firebolt goes straight through the like the opening, and it just goes right over uh Shusui's head.
SPEAKER_00Oh god, how do you miss? It can't even move.
SPEAKER_02Dude, there's something in my eye. There's a lot of dust here. Alright, hold on. I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Alright. Let me try that one more time. It's because I didn't yell. Alright, this time it's 11. Let's go.
SPEAKER_07Okay. Uh it hits right where you had hit it before your first time around. Um, Black Sky, how are you helping out?
SPEAKER_03Alright, as soon as it hits, I throw my dagger. The phasing one.

SPEAKER_07Okay. Roll to attack. Um just gotta be the 10.
SPEAKER_03Nice. Uh oh, the phantom dagger. Alright. Bam! I pull out my Phantom dagger from my pot, from the back of my side, and like in a swift motion. Roll the 17.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and as your dagger hits it, at the same time that Wagner's fireboat hits it, the lock falls down and your dagger just reappears in your hand, and the gate opens.

If the object is a magic item or other magical object, I learn its properties, how to use them, whether it requires attunement, uh, and then how many charges, and then I learn any ongoing spells that are affecting the item.
SPEAKER_07You take out the whisper, the the flute, the horn that you had gotten from Last Water Guardian, and you start playing a tune on it in a very somber tune. And then you touch this little toothpick or what seems to be a toothpick of some sword. All of a sudden you get you're overflooded with like magical aura. And you in your mind you instantly understand what this this item is, and it is it's a golden staff. As you touch it, the staff starts to grow in in size. It goes bigger and bigger and bigger until it purses down to where you are standing, and it just kind of just grows so big, it just goes all the way up. I need everyone to give me a wisdom saving throw.
SPEAKER_00That's crazy. So that's a five? And I'm gonna use practical mind to see if I can boost that up a bit. Uh that's a that's a 14.
SPEAKER_03I was made for this. I rolled a 21.
SPEAKER_07The magical aura around it, the the very nature of the staff, it's so powerful that it's it's causing some kind of force. Or some kind of force damage to each of you. Uh 21, like sky, you being one with you know like magic, you being someone who were born by magic almost. You're able to withstand this force damage. Uh what did you guys choose to again? 14 right you start to grab your head and you go down to 1D. You're gonna take 1d8 force damage. Uh I can roll that actually. You're also gonna be taking uh 1d8 force damage as you you let go of the staff at this point, but your hand is still on the staff because it's going well within your hand. So you take five points of um force damage. Well do you take two? And you start to feel a tremor that ripples underneath your your all of your feet. And then another one and another one. You start to hear uh something in the distance. But because you know you're being hurt by this force. You hear a a drum beat that echoes it starts from where you're at, and then it seems you just keep going and it's deeper and you look around, but you don't see anyone playing any drums. And then you hear the drum again, and then you hear the drum again, and then you hear the drum again. And that's where we'll stop for tonight.
